Karin Knight, nee Meland, born in Norway 1938. Retired Registered Nurse (except for when friends and family are sick and need a hand). Author of two books: the Baby Cookbook (Wm. Morrow 1984, 1992) and 1,2,3 Cook for Me,published 2006. A meditator for over 30 years. Married 45 years. Have three of the finest, sweetest and most brilliant children in the world: William, Robert, and Mirabai. I live in a paradise called Missoula. I have lived a rich and far from dull life, and through the years, I have been blessed with amazing friends. I have traveled in my later years- to Norway, Sweden, England, Prague and Paris. I belong to a fabulous club, The James Joyce book club.In addition to having read all of JJ's books, we also read other authors : Falkner, Flannery O'Connor, Melville, William Trevor, Jorge Luis Borges - just to mention a few. I love to read, and have through the years probably read most of the classics. I have always had a weakness for the Russians :Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Turgenev,Bulgakov (The Master and Margarita), Chekhov and others. I read authors from around the world, both classic and contemporary. To mention a couple of my favorites :Gabriel Garcia Marquez,, Naguib Mahfouz, Yukio Mishima, Thomas Mann, Orhan Pamuk; there is not space enough to enter the English, Italian, French, Scandinavians, Poetry, contemporary bestsellers - good and bad- and all my favorite mystery writers. Although I read and allot and listen to to a tremendous amount of music, as well, that does not prevent me from enjoying Margarita and dinner parties on my deck and in the garden in the summertime with my friends. Friends that always bring spirited conversations and lots of laughter. It is a rich and good life.
